The first action figures were the G.I. Joe figures produced by Hasbro way back in 1964. Action figures are so popular these days that every TV series, movies and comic book have their Action figures in their characters. There are so many different figures that are difficult to find out what is collectible. There are 3 main factors which make a particular figure more popular, famous, prized and treasured by all.
These are Appeal, Rarity and condition.
The first cause is Appeal .What makes a figure so appealing .This paragraph will clear the basic idea. Action figure collectibles is a passion for many. It is matter of  great reasoning what makes a figure so appealing and collectible  that  children across the world plead  and beg these figures from their Parents or it can be said that parents stand in long queues in the freezing cold to buy Hans so that their child  do not make noise for some time. There are many people who collect Action figures as an investment which is all about nostalgia and recapturing one`s childhood. It’s the enjoyment of playing with action figures for hours in bed room.
The second cause is rarity. Many vintage Action figures are rare action figures  as nobody thought of reusing them. If their legs and arms have been pulled off, then they might have been thrown into trash. Companies now make “Chase action figures” which are like mainstream and popular figures but they are slight modified and slightly different with different colored clothes and designs .Also a limited number are made so they can become   popular and appealing to collectors.
The third cause is the condition. The condition of figure is an important parameter for a collector when he is going to buy a figure. A figure which is perfect in shape, color and as shiny as it was when it was made make it more collectible than a worn, grimy, dull figure without a box . A collector may pick a unboxed figure from a local market it probably may take that for playing rather than to collect it with main stream Action figures. Also there is a grading scale for action figures The grading scale for the Action figures ranges from mint(C10) to very poor(C1) for carded figures .If an action figure is not  having a card then it is not even  on the scale.
